Plasmonic Molecular Nanohybrids—Spectral Dependence of Fluorescence Quenching
We demonstrate strong spectral dependence of the efficiency of fluorescence quenching in molecular systems composed of organic dyes and gold nanoparticles. In order to probe the coupling with metallic nanoparticles we use dyes with varied spectral overlap between the plasmon resonance and their absorption. Hybrid molecular structures were obtained via conjugation of metallic nanoparticles with ...
متن کاملBoosting molecular fluorescence with a plasmonic nanolauncher.
Molecular emission enhancement is generally obtained by proper coupling with external resonances. Here we propose the idea of a plasmonic nanolauncher, i.e., a metamaterial-inspired ultranarrow channel at cutoff. Its peculiar operation provides uniform phase and drastic amplitude increase all over the channel, allowing high emission enhancement independent of the position of an individual or gr...
متن کاملQuenching of Molecular Fluorescence near the Surface 0f.a Semiconductor
The possibility of energy transfer from an excited molecule to a nearby semiconductor was recently proposed by Dexter [l] , who thus extended previous work [2-51 on energy transfer from an excited molecule to a metal Dexter’s idea was that energy produced in the form of excitons in a strongly absorbing organic coating could be transferred to a semiconductor producing free electrons and holes in...
متن کاملMCR of the quenching of the EEM of fluorescence of Aflatoxins (B1, G1) by Gold nanoparticles
In This research, gold nanoparticles were synthesized and functionalized by the antibody of aflatoxins. The quenching of the fluorescence of excitation emission matrices (EEM) of two type of aflatoxins (B1, G1), provoked by the gold nanoparticles, was studied by principal component analysis (PCA) and multivariate curve resolution with alternating least squares (MCR-ALS). These aflatoxins show q...
متن کاملsNN dependence of jet quenching
The PHENIX experiment has established jet quenching at a center-of-mass energy of 200 GeV in Au+Au collisions. Recent measurements of Cu+Cu collisions at the same center-of-mass energy support a parton energy loss scenario. Furthermore, the onset of jet quenching was studied in Cu+Cu collisions for three center-of-mass energies 22.4, 62.4 and 200 GeV.
